Mark as Read acting up

This forum I usually consider to be one of the better of the sites I visit. However lately, it has been doing something annoying.
I visit generally once per day and visit the sections that interest me. I know about what time I visited. The next day (today) I look in the "Last post" column and see that there have been posts since my visit. However when I open the section they are not bolded, they are regular typeface as they should be once I have read them.
Why is AC marking them as read by me even when I haven't been there. AC didn't use to screw this up and it is jacking it up now. Please fix this erroneous behavior. Out of the dozen or so web site forums I visit, some do very well at keeping track of what I've seen and what I haven't. Some do poorly. AC used to be on the well-run list. Just because you're getting bigger and more successful don't get sloppy.

Thanks.

lol. If size were directly proportional to things breaking, we would have broken far more many things by now.

We're doing a little site work lately. Bugs will happen. Thanks for pointing them out in a polite manner. We'll work to get them fixed just as soon as we can.

Tnx for quick reply. I consider this one of the better run places out there. bikeforums.net is about the worst in the "Mark as Read" regard...if I stay navigate to the site, then get called away from the computer, then go back I find everything has been marked as read. Absolutely sucks and I consider tham about the worst in that regard. windowssecrets.com forums are absolutely the best. And I can't figure out why so much variation...they look like t hey all run the same forum software, albeit with different skins.
Keep up the good work. I enjoy the podcasts also.

I've notice the same thing. In my case it seem to mark everything as read everytime I visit androidcentral.com since I'm logged it. In other words, whenever I visit the site (even if I don't go to the forums) it marks everything as read.

It doesn't do that if I'm not logged into the site, but I prefer to stay logged in all the time.

Well, now it got really wierd. It usually doesn't happen all the time. This morning, about half the sections I visited had it just about right as to the last time I visited. The others had me marked as unread all the way back to July 3...odd since I come here just about every day. Maybe it will work tomorrow and on out. It was odd that they didn't all act the same though. Thanks for working on this.

Clear your cookies. Past behavior may not be fixed, but it should be good in the future. You might also click the "Mark All Forums Read" option.

I wanted to use it for a few days before I commented. But everything is working great now with marking stuff read. I never use "Mark All Read" instead I use "Mark this forum read" as I read different forums. They are correctly being marked as read based on when I hit that in each forum. Thanks for the update Cory!

Glad to hear it guys. I should have added, my suggestion to use the Mark All as Read feature, was only meant as a one-time deal to resolve all the old threads you'd already read as being marked as unread post the change I made.

You should be good moving forward and I'm pretty confident that this new method of tracking will be much more reliable.
