Market and amazon both want to update kindle app

Totally stock, and suddenly both market and the amazon store show an update for kindle. Update market and the update shows up in amazon. Update amazon and it shows up again in market... any ideas

I had the same thing happen with the Amazon.com app. In that case, I had installed it via the Amazon Appstore, so I deleted the Market's data, which fixed things. In your case, it's Amazon that is the "intruder" here, so you might want to clear its data. Basically, the idea is to wipe the data of the app store that shouldn't be trying to update your app.

I too had the same thing happen with the Amazon app. I just let them fight it out for a day or two and didn't see any ill effects so I just forgot about it.

Since market was showing the update, I cleared the data for it. It came back with 3 other updates when i logged back in, but so far not kindle. So far so good. Clearing data on the market is something I have had to do WAY too many times..... I think they need to do more than cosmetic work there.

I've noticed in the past week that the market is prompting me to update the crapware on both my Thunderbolt and XOOM. I don't touch those apps usually and I haven't rooted either device. This may be a server side thing Google is doing.
