Is there a way to get full market access on the rooted stock rom? I know angry birds doesn't show up, along with some card games, etc. On Nookie there is a work around to get full access, but I can't seem to find anything on doing it for the rooted stock. Any help/ideas?

I'd prefer to not sideload or use adb every time I find an app i'd want on it.

Have you read and tried "How to Root Your Nook Color" it's very easy and straight forward. I used 7-Zip and WinImage to unzip and write to the SD card. There's no clockwork or ADB to deal with!

Thanks, but that's not what my problem is. I have rooted and I have market access :P It's just not FULL access, there are several apps not available when I search. I can find them on appbrain or on my phones market, but just can't figure out how to make them show up on the NC. There's a thread about angry birds not showing up, only the seasonal, which is also the case for me...however their solution is to sideload or use adb, which i'd rather not do every time I fail to find an app.

Would love to know if anyone has thoughts on this as well. About ready to root and keep stock ROM in place (at least for a while) and would like full access as you mention.

ahh sorry, so the apps that don't show are the ones not actually compatible w/this version correct? I know on my fascinate I have angry birds showing in appbrain, but when I sync it on my nook, it doesn't show...

Yeah, it doesn't show on the market. If you go to appbrain's site or their app, you can't search it on the NC, but not download I don't think. They are compatible, I sideloaded Angry Birds and a solitaire game and they both work fine on my NC. If you install Nookie Froyo, it has the same issue but has a solution to fix it. Just hoping there's one for Stock.

Alright, I think I found a small work around. If you search with it in portrait mode it won't show a full list of search results, which oddly enough leaves out angry birds and others. If you put it in landscape, the rest of the results pop up along with whatever missing apps (I thought) weren't going to show up.

my problem i'm having in the market is getting an error "Installation Error Missing shared library" this is when trying to install Tweetdeck and a couple of other soundboards and such from the market.

Can't download from Market

I've done a stock root on my Nook. Everything works but when I try to download apps from the market nothing happens. I get as far as the "starting download msg" but nothing ever downloads. After the first time, I returned my stock to the stock B&N image and then rerooted again. Using Autonooter 3.0. I'm on version 1.1.0 of the firmware. Any idea why I'm having a problem. I have web and email access.

In response to the OP....
Download Market Enabler, install, set to Verizon.

I found my problem with Andriod Market

I have my router firewall set to high. For some reason that was blocking access to the andriod market. Temporarily shut off firewall and was able to download.

With the market installed I noticed that a lot of apps didnt come up. I went ahead and installed the new market and some apps still didnt come up such as angry birds. But thats what 4shared.com is for. Free APKs. Installed and it works fine.

What could be a seriously dumb question: Can I cut and paste apps from my Android phone into the Nook and have them work?

Start Nook Color Tools.
Select the ?All Settings? button.
Unplug your NOOKcolor from computer. (If Plugged in.)
Choose ?Manage Applications? from the list.
Select the ?All? tab.
Scroll down to ?Market? and select it.
Tap ?Force stop?.
Tap ?Clear cache?.
Tap the Back button if you have SoftKeys running, else swipe right to left on the status bar at the bottom of the screen (from the clock to the book icon).
Scroll up to ?Google Services Framework? and select it.
Tap ?Clear data?.
Tap ?OK?.
Tap ?Force stop?.
Press the n button to return to your launcher.
Start Market.
At the ?An error has occurred? message, tap ?OK?.
Hold your power button to turn off your NOOK Color from the menu.
Turn your NOOK Color back on and give it a moment to find your WiFi connection.
Start Market again, and the problem is resolved.
