marshmallow, bluetooth low quality audio issue

we recently went from the galaxy s5's to the s6 and ive noticed the audio quality from my bluetooth headset is horrible and i cant enjoy my music, however if i use headphones that use a aux cord it sounds decent, not great though(sounds like the base is very very heavy). im unsure on what to try, ive tried third party music apps to adjust it myself and it helped but its still annoying, when im on the bobcat for hours i almost need music to keep me sain. im unsure if this is a marshmallow issue or with the phone, ive flashed the renegade rom found here [Rom] Renegade (G925P)(PB6-V1)(6.0.1){Aroma} | Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

i used one of the apps that came on it to adjust the audio and that seemed to make the biggest improvement so far. if this is a common thing with marshmallow then i may downgrade to lollipop. also marshmallow is the firmware the phone came with, i did not upgrade.
