The Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 5 got marshmallow in early March. This is now late April. Being that some people claim Verizon is slowest to update, then the h5x, being carrier free, should have gotten marshmallow well before it, since it doesn't even need carrier approval.

Marshmallow update 'coming soon' to the Honor 5X | Android Central

Honor has announced that it will start rolling out the Marshmallow update to the Honor 5X in the U.S. very soon. The phone currently runs Android 5.1 Lollipop.

At least they will roll it out, rather have it be slow than none at all

Let's take your January 2016 release date. I will quote Phil, the editor in chief who said on December 2, 2015 that " It is not acceptable for a manufacturer to release a new device running anything less than Android 6.0 Marshmallow from this point forward."

Poor launch choice BUT considering first us phone and Honor OS a very small company (sub brand) and unlike blu wich is being praised for the vivo 5 which will likley never get updated like the rest of the companies phones, I'd say Honor isn't doing horrible

I'm in the beta and we are working on what quite possibly could be the final release, there's some problems with T-Mobile calling...I'm not sure how long huawei will take for the final rollout. But it should be done within 2 weeks

Yea go to hi honor.com, click on support and enter the 5x and it's there. I have a couple phones to manually update this weekend myself

You can manually update the honor 5x. I believe someone posted a thread on AC a few days ago with a link from Honor's site.

I have been using mine for the past couple of days - seems to run a bit smoother.
