Marshmallow is installed 0n 0.3% of Devices!

Ideally, Google would have control over the updates to all android phones, but that's not feasible as of yet. But maybe some day Android will evolve to the point where OEMs and Carriers can mess with the UI and features, but Google has full control and access to update their OS quickly. You already see that logic in a small way with some functionality being offloaded to apps.

In the mean time I'm satisfied with the options available to the Nexus line. Now if they would only extend their support to 3 or 4 years my Nexus 4 would be very happy.

Ehh it's not bad. Most of the features can be bypassed by going to the play store and updating certain apps from Google. With the exception of now on tap.

It was just released, calm yourself.

I think with other manufacturers bloating their devices, it's always going to be this way. Along with different device manufacturers, it's not as simple as it is for Apple devices where they're all the same.

Plus how long has 6.0 been out?

From a statistical standpoint one would need to take the population of Nexus devices compared to the rest of the population since Nexus devices are typically updated first. Although Motorola is pushing out very quick updates now. In theory there are 0.3% of Nexus devices being used by the current number. I know that's not true but I wonder what the actual number is.
