What a surprise! My tablet just downloaded Marshmallow. My battery is at only 35% so I have to wait for it to charge to let it install:(
Was so not expecting this!
There is no news about this on any of the tech sites. At least not for a USA release. Is anyone else getting their Marshmallow goodness?

I'm located in a suburb of Toronto, Canada. I just saw your post and turned on my Galaxy tab S 8.4 wi-fi, SM-T700. It immediately started downloading a system update, some 897.62 MB.

I am assuming that this will be Marshmallow.

Does this lift the restrictions on accessing external SD card storage from other apps, without rooting? Frustrating and unnecessary - my marshmallow Moto G4 is fine with open access to SD.

Also got mine this weekend! I was really hoping for the updated UI colors that I have on my S7 Edge but still a nice welcome update

I could not have been more surprised by this update. I had totally given up hope that it would ever happen. I purchased my Note 4, Tab S 8.4 at the same time, and have never looked back. Both are my work horses. Thank you Samsung for the surprise!

Don't be quite so happy yet.

The upgrade has been a disaster for me and many others. I have been looking for a simple way to reverse the process to a time when my tablet worked fine. I still haven't found any plusses that made made the upgrade worth all of the trouble.

In my opinion if you have a choice don't do it

It's working well for me.
However, is anyone having issues charging theirs lately? Perhaps my battery is has just been through too many cycles at this point, but it doesn't really hold a charge like it used to...

This is a Tab S 10.5, it has been 2 days, used only about 10 to 15 minutes before going to bed, then I let it go to standby mode.
I think battery issue is not related to the new OS as mine still has 86% of battery after almost 3 days
