Marshmallow

Wait.. so Android Wear going from 1.3 to 1.4 is considered Marshmallow?

Not necessarily. The Android OS on the 360 will move from 5.1.1 to 6.0.x. This may (likely) or may not require an update to Android Wear.

That's always seemed so confusing to me to explain which thing I am trying to describe, the app or the watch o.s.

I know after several burnings, the app is called Android Wear, the o.s. on the watch is simple lollipop or Marshmallow.

Well, it's on its way ....

Google Has Started Rolling Out Marshmallow For Android Wear

Who will be first to try it out and give back comments / reviews?

I have the 2nd gen 360 and knew that was gonna get the update no matter what, but I was wondering about my 1st Gen 360... This is great news! However I think 6.0 will be the last update for 1st Gen but I'm ok with that. It runs good for how old that processor is. The updates over time have helped so dramatically! Looking forward to marshmallows on my wrist!

Just installed, Here's a few notes from what I've seen so far on my Moto 360 1st gen:

- The DND toggles have been changed to just a single button that can only select alarms only. No more priority notification buttons on the wrist!
- Watch is a lot smoother as a whole, but time will tell
- For me at least, the new gestures are a little weird and don't always work (especially the shake to return to the watchface)
- Screen elements (buttons, app icons) seem bigger now
- No matter what screen you're on, if you lower your wrist to the side it will auto-dim and turn the screen off or into Ambient.
- New voice search icon!
- Voice search now stops listening when you tap the microphone icon during dictation, and is also generally much quicker.
- New reminders app on the watch

My biggest concerns are battery life as per usual, as I only got 14-16 hours with ambient on before and performance (which has been especially laggy in the past).

The DND you are on about, is that where you swipe down from the top, and can set DND, priority or normal?

If so, on my 1st gen, updated this morning, I still have the 3 icons

Weird, do you have Marshmallow on your phone too? I'm using the Nexus 6P with the latest update

Heres mine, still the same. Believe in 6.0 on the phone, the DND was changing ... wonder if that is why yours is different

Anyone have an issue when you bring the watch to your face the watch displays in black and white for a sec the reverts back to color.

Yeah, it seems that when you tilt the watch, the ambiant screen is shown for a fraction of seconds before the normal watch face.
Some watch faces get stuck on the ambiant screen (InstaWeather)

I can't seem to get the update. Reset the watch 3 times (twice today). I check for system update and it's "up to date". Grr!

Updates work in roll out phases, not how many times you restart your device... it doesn't even matter where you live or where you're located. It sucks that you just have to wait your turn in line, but its just how Android products are and always have been. 😉

Got mine today...I purchased the watch in November. I was trying all day and did one last restart and it downloaded. Had to do a factory reset on the watch because it was very buggy...other than that its does seem a lot smoother.
