I got the Marstak Flip Shell which is branded as a Moto Mod but was not released as such in the US region. It is a flip wallet that uses the magnet attachment like a style shell so it is easy to remove and yet easily supports the phone by holding onto the flap alone. It withstands light shaking and has replaced my TUMI wallet case which didn't have the magnetic attachment.

It is available on Amazon and is less expensive than the Moto Style Mods. Since it fits the entire family of Moto Z phones I think if more Z phone owners are aware of this they will opt for it since it makes using other mods much easier. (Taking my phone out of it's case to use the car charger was always a pain and now is a breeze.)

It fits the Z2 Play and Z2 Force as well as the first generation. Since it uses the magnetic connector that the style shells have it fits all the phones. I've tried it on the ultra slim Z and the chunky Z Play and it's fine on both

I liked the Marstak Flip Shells so much I got them for other members of my family. Is anyone else here using this shell?

Anyone know if credit cards getting pressed hard against the screen could scratch it? That's what I would be most concerned about with these.

I have the Moto Z and the Moto Z Play and I don't use a screen protector. It didn't create any scratches. I previously used the TUMI wallet case without the magnetic back and that had no scratching problems either. I can't speak for the Moto Z2 Force which is said to be very scratch-prone.

I use Moto Z without any screen protector and it has no scratches. Gorilla glass is almost impossible to scratch
