Master Sync toggle...where is it on a Galaxy 2 TAB

[Android Central Question]

on the E-mail account in Settings, there is a Sync box
When the box is blank, the note below it says "Sync Disabled"
When I add a checkmark in the box, the note below says "Master Sync has been disabled"
(When there is a checkmark in the box, the Sync Schedule can be set but apparently there is no sync (except for a manual sync)

I can't find anything that toggles "Master Sync" ON and OFF
