Hey all I'm new to the Verizon forums being a member of AT&T for the past 8 years. Unfortunately I've decided to switch over to due a move. My new house has absolutely no service for AT&T and is crucial I have a signal due to the fact I work at home off my phone. I currently have a Samsung S2 Skyrocket and honestly love it! My only issue is battery life, I know it has an 1850 mah hour battery yet I can't get through 10 hours of standby with 3 hours of on screen time on LTE. So I already know I'm definitely not putting my money into something that won't last the entire day. I know the Razr Maxx HD is coming out soon but it will probably be 299 and once it comes out I'm sure Verizon will lower the original maxx to 99. Can you guys give me an honest opinion on your day to day battery life? Thanks!

You're going to get a wide variety of answers. It totally depends on your usage pattern. If you keep wifi, 4G, and Bluetooth on at all times, watch a lot of videos, listen to a lot of music, etc., you can get pretty much a full day of use (and possibly more) before you have to charge. Personally, I only turn on wifi or 4G when I need them. My use is light to moderate, and I consistently get 2 full days of use before charging, and that's only because the battery is down to about 50%--I could probably go 3 full days if I wanted to.

Screen time is one of the biggest battery depleters. I think the Maxx can have the screen on for anywhere between 6 to 8 hours total on one full charge (I think for average smartphones, it's about 4 hours).

I can make it through at 14 hour day with heavy use & have 30% left on my current MAXX.

Cost should never be a factor when buying a phone, especially when it's the device you will use every day (probably every half-hour) for the next 2 years! To me, the economics don't make sense to save a hundred bucks (or even two hundred) over the length of a contract, especially when you factor in recouping money from resale.

Motorola makes the best radios in the business, if signal strength and call reliability matter, Motorola it is.

I recently jumped to Verizon and bought my MAXX off Craigslist (screamin' deal for $260). I plan on getting the MAXX HD, but may just wait till the 'Craigslist' price comes off its (probably) $299 Verizon 2-year price.

The new line of RAZR's make much more efficient use of battery life, you can expect these results:

RAZR MAXX HD > RAZR HD > RAZR MAXX > RAZR M > RAZR

To be honest, if you plan on buying a phone from Verizon and are a tad price concious, I'd buy the RAZR HD, it will have better/similar life than the current MAXX and will be MUCH faster with a MUCH MUCH better screen.

My gsam battery monitor puts my average at one day and a hour!.

If i use my phone till it dies in my hand ill go from 630am day one and make it till day 2 around 11am.

Im a heavy user.. i kik, tweet and instagram all day. As well as use the phone for work emails and to find out information in the field.. wifi is always on at work and home... auto turns off via llama when im not... i use Bluetooth headphones when i work out and i work out almost everyday. Gps once a week. Not a big gamer but i do play simple games when i have time.

Never ever have problems with my phone not lasting a day. It always makes it from when i wake up at 630am to bed time.. 1am to 4 am

All i ever wanted is my phone to make it from when i wake up till when i fall asleep and this has never disappointed me!

My Maxx lasts usually between 12-14 hours now. Best I ever got was 20+ before the ICS update. I usually log about 3-4 hours of screen time and I'm a mix of wifi and 4g.

I guess I'm the lower end of the battery life spectrum. Good phone and I still love it.

Pushing information through the internetz with my MAXX!

My average (non tethering) is about 12-16 hours. I am a HEAVY user and probably use it more than most. Now that I bought a nexus 7, that usage may decline and gain me more battery life. :-)

I can get a day but no more than that. I use my phone a lot.

Gsam tells me my average life is 17 hrs 15 mins. I rarely get make it that far before plugging it in.

Although I charge every night and after 12-14 hours I'm usually at 30-40 percent with 4+ hours of screen time. So I could last for a few more hours before plugging it in, but I don't need to
