I got a camera update yesterday on my N5. Anybody know what changed or if and where there is a change log somewhere? I can not seem to find any changes.

Google keeps updating apps without changing the changelog. Don't know what they did. I was wondering the same thing.

I assume it's more than likely just some bug fixes since they had just updated it a week or so ago to add back the ability to take stills while taking video.

I was playing with it yesterday actually looking for differences or changes and found none. So like others said, it is probably just bug fixes.

The main change was to add back video still capture. It was discussed on various sites (including this one), but as with all Google apps, the update is a rolling one, so there is usually some lag time between the announcement and when you actually get the update.

True, but I downloaded the apk and installed it when it was announced earlier this week/ last week and still got another update May 9 as well.

What build version is your current Camera? Mine is 2.1.043, and I only got one update. If yours is the same, I wonder if it automatically "updated" with the same version--maybe the system was a little confused by the previously sideloaded update.

I believe the ability to snap pics while in video mode was reestablished. Im not sure though since I reverted back to original due to them taking that from us in the update before this one.

I don't know if this is a fluke or not but I did the update and now my week old N5 randomly says "can not connect to camera". It doesn't do it every time, maybe once out of five times of opening the camera app but a restart of the phone is the only way to fix the problem.

I ended up having to do this to re-install the camera on my tablet (Not google's fault...its an unsupported device). Unfortunately, it will take all your apps and settings with it. Had to re-install everything.

But it does work now.

A cache partition wipe cleared out your apps and settings? That's odd--that's not supposed to happen, unless it was an actual factory data reset. Which tablet?

Yeah it was a factory reset (though I don't think it called it that, which is why it surprised me). I didn't lose anything vital except my Candy Crush progress.

It's an Asus Transformer with the OmniROM.

Does your Transformer have a custom recovery? Because I recall the stock recovery on my old TF300 didn't have any cache partition wipe option--it was just reboot or factory reset.
