OTA's seem to take forever...but this time I decided to sideload the OTA and there was NO optimization??? The whole process took 10 minutes or so and that was it. Everything has been running great! Battery life has improved for me.

I don't get the angst over the "optimization." It optimizes on the 2nd partition, and in no way impacts your usage of the phone. In other words, you are not waiting or losing any time. Simply restart when it finishes. I have sideloaded as well, but if you do that you actually can't use your device during the process. I'm fine doing it either way, but like the flexibility to use the darn thing and not worry about when the update finishes.
