No problems on my 3 XL. (I don't think I've ever run into a significant problem with any update on any Pixel, to be honest.)

Thanks. I haven't either with the Pixel 3, but I did with my previous Samsung. I usually wait for few days just to be sure.

Not a bad idea. Updates tend to be wonkier for non-Pixel phones because some other company has to tweak Google's code to account for specific hardware or firmware differences, and that's where bugs happen.
