May Update

As long as you are on the Beta track you will not get monthly updates, you will only get updates when there is a new Beta.

Easily 45 minutes from start to finish. I find it a little strange that it takes so long,

Didn't take more than 2 or 3 minutes with my OnePlus 7 Pro. Hell, it didn't take that long on my Nexus 6.

Sorry for the dup post. Was on my Chromebook and the website had some issues saving the post, which ended up causing a duplicate post. Whoops! Gotta love modern technology.

A/B partition system. Probably was not on the Nexus 6 and might not be used on the OnePlus. I'm not defending Google and their decision to use A/B partition, just saying that these updates took longer (and still do) on A/B phones. It has its advantages and disadvantages

For sure it wasn't on the Nexus 6. I was a flashaholic back then. 20 minutes after I got the Nexus I had unlocked and flashed. I loved that phone and kept it almost 5 years.

Re: May Security Update

So far "Always ON" is staying always ON!
Previously it would turn OFF occasionally, requiring pressing the ON/OFF button.
It's just one of those trivial things I hope they got to this month.

I've only had my Pixel 6 Pro for a couple of days, but I had noticed a few instances in which the Always On Display was off and the phone would not wake when I picked it up. Like you, I had to press the Power On button to activate the device when that happened. Fortunately, this update seems to have resolved the issue.

I was surprised to find that, after taking nearly an hour to download and install, the update didn't contain much in the way of fixes or feature upgrades. But no complaints here -- so far, this phone appears to be functioning smoothly and flawlessly, with battery life that rivals my late, great Pixel 5. It's still early, so I'm not yet sufficiently confident in the P6P to wipe the P5 and set it up for my wife; but another day or two of problem-free performance and I'll be ready to release it.

I need to finish my update tonight for my Pixel 5! Happy that the updates seek to be coming on time for everyone! :)

I got it last night. Small update but took close to an hour to "optimize". When is Google going to cut back on how long the optimizing part takes? This has been going on for years now. It used to say "optimizing apps". Now it says "optimizing phone".

I still have yet to receive 13 beta on mine.

EDIT: opted out of beta 12 and joined 13 and got it. However still on March play update.

After 3 full days, "Always ON" is staying always ON! It's working just as it should! I have no other issues with my P6Pro.

THEY FIXED THE VIBRATE INTENSITY!!! I can actually hear my phone vibrate next to me again!!
