I'm rooted with s-on. Is there anything I need to know before I update? Sorry for the simple noob question, just don't want to brick this thing. Thank you

I don't know - the reason I came on tonight was because I was looking for answers to this same question. I tried updating and it froze on the HTC screen. I couldn't get it to boot further so I am restoring my most recent backup. At the very least make sure you have a good backup.

So I went over to XDA to see what people are having issues with if any and it looks like Mikey suggests having 1701 running overvolted for stability. Otherwise you should be good because the radios aren't bundled in.

I'll try it in the morning to see.

I'm rooted s-on too and was able to dirty flash over to 3.0. The install took a bit longer than normal and I had to flash it twice like on the very first install of MeanBean. My issue now is....trying to update the radios being s-on.

As far as I'm aware, the only way to do this is to make a backup, unroot, update, reroot with the newest TWRP (otherwise you don't get a touchscreen) and restore your backup.

S-On rooted on TWRP 2.4.1 and I can't get 3.0 to work.

You have to downgrade TWRP. The newer versions don't work correctly.

Everyone is having the same problem and having to DOWNGRADE TWRP to version 2.3.1.0 or 2.3.3.0

Also - have you upgraded your firmware to go along with meanbean 3.0?

Everything you need to know is in the first three posts of the MeanBean thread on XDA.

YOU NEED TO GO S-OFF. DO IT!!!

I think by this weekend I'll acquire s-off. So far from what I'm reading to be completely updated and s-on you have to make a backup, relock, upgrade twrp, run newest RUU, take the OTA, reunlock, downgrade twrp, flash MeanBean. That's just too much crap for every radio update. Hell I'm not even sure what is the latest RUU to run and I've been looking at threads most the day. All of the RUU links on the page that Mikey has linked to on the OP are broken now(I think HTC made Football take them down)

You dont want to run the full RUU anyway, Its the firmware zip inside the RUU that you want. HTC is really making things harder and harder for us to have our phone the way we want it.
Take a look here.......[FIX] for semi-brick on 3.15.651.16 JellyBean stock RUU - xda-developers
Heres the RUU's if you want them.....Directory listing of http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/Jewel
