Media Management & the MicroSD Card

I've been able to sync my Google Music to my TF. I marked 6GB worth of music as "available offline" but have not actually played anything from the cloud, and none of my music showed up in the Music folder. However, when I decided to uncheck "available offline" for these albums, I recovered the 6GB. It makes me think that Honeycomb reserved the space for my downloads for when I actually downloaded them, but there were no music files actually present. Is that correct?

The reason this is important is that I installed a 16GB microSD card for media storage; however I don't know if the music app will find my music if I move it there to save space in my regular storage. Alternatively, I can copy music from my PC to the microSD card. Again, I don't know if the stock music app will find them.

I downloaded an MPG movie I had copied to Dropbox. I moved it to the microSD card and set up Mobo to find and play it. (Nice program, by the way.) So, I know where to put movies.

I can experiment with all of this myself, but wondered how others are organizing media using the microSD card. Are you using Google Music or another music player app?

Thanks for any insights and suggestions.
