Media player freeze trying to multi-task

Droid x 2.2 unrooted pretty stock.

I have no problems multitasking while I listen to music mp3's. I donwloaded the Android Central Podcast directly to my phone and when i listen my media player is freezing up on me when I go to my home page or try to do anything else. Even if I pause the podcast, go do what I need to do and come back to the media player it will not play and it is stuck. I tried moving the file from my downloads to my albums folder where the rest of my music resides, still freezes, I deleted the podcast and downloaded it again and I get the freeze. I did some searching around but didn't see anything, any help?

Had the same problem. I think its an issue with the stock player. I switched to WinAmp's player and haven't had a hitch...

The Default music player freezing is a known issue according to Motorola. Looks like it's going to have to be tanked until it's fixed. Try another player?

I downloaded the RockPlayer and had the same issue, I will try the winamp player, thanks.

Winamp is no longer working. I can not do anything if I run an mp3 podcast, which is usually over an hour. Music mp3's there is not a problem, I can multitask whatever I want.

Thanks to the podcast suggestion I downloaded poweramp and its been running great with long mp3 files, no problem multitasking at all. I play 4 hour stern shows so it was very annoying loosing my place every time I needed to do anything on my phone.
