Media Player

Anybody else missing the media player in the quick settings or in general? When I'm playing music there's nothing on the lock screen or in the quick settings.

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Sound>Media​ and make sure the toggle for "Media player in Quick Settings" is turned on.

I have done that and the toggle is set to on but still nothing. Even rebooted the phone

Which media players have you tried?

I have tried YouTube Music and Amazon Music which does not work but the player does show up when using Spotify. Really weird because you'd think if any would work with a Google phone it'd be YT music.

Go to Settings>Apps, select YouTube Music, then Notifications. Is the Playback toggle turned on?

That resolved the issue, thank you! I feel pretty silly that I didn't think to try that.

No problem, glad it worked! i wonder why that notification toggle was turned off in the first place?

I wondered that myself. I copied my settings from my other phone when I set my 5a up so it should have been toggled on since it apparently was on on the other.
