Media Scanner always scanning SD card

MY wifes Cappy kept scanning the media card..non-stop!I took the SD card outvand it fixed the problem for about 2 weeks..but it is now stuck scanning the media card (internal I guess)..any ideas?

NOt sure, but mine also scans a lot! Its annoying. I don't ever use the external card, and I know all the files on my phone....why does it need to check them all the time? Ugh.

Try the "Rescan Media" app. There's one for root and non-root. See if it helps- it's free.

so you're solution to the OS scanning al the time is to install an app to scan it even more times?

I know I'm late to this thread but my phone recently "recommended" I run a system update (from TMobile) and now it is constantly scanning my SD card and draining my battery. I used to get a few days on a charge, and now I get half a day on a charge.

Rescan let's you disable the media scannng service, won't add time for scanning media on your phone. Ignorance is a bliss, just not in this case.
