Random text sent- What is this?

Have been noticing a text message sent to 94183571 every now and then...
"GET?c=SAM:SM-G935A/6.0.1:1.0.24-6&v=1.0&l=myphone#&AD"

I am sure it is related to a setting don't know what...

I'm also getting this. I Google'd the number but could not find any information.

Re: Random text sent- What is this?

I had this problem with sprint a while back. It is a network thing. I called sprint and had them reset (provision) my network data and have never had this problem again.

Re: Random text sent- What is this?

I believe I figured this out. My AT&T Galaxy S7 was doing the same thing, which is how I found this thread.
If you parse the message, You will see it is sending the phone model, the Android version (6.0.1) and then another thing that looks like a version number. This happens to be exactly the same as the version of AT&T's Visual Voicemail app that was preloaded on our phones.
It seems that when the phone reboots/restarts the Visual Voicemail app is trying to report something to AT&T. I had not opened the Visual Voicemail app since getting my phone last week, so what I did was open the app, and let it do it's setup routine. Now, when I reboot the phone, I no longer see these backend messages in my Messaging app. They may still be being sent, but I believe they are now being masked from view. I don't see them anymore. Try running the Visual Voicemail app and go through its set up process. It may stop these messages from being seen anymore.

Re: Random text sent- What is this?

Every once in a while you'll get a similar type outgoing message from an app (other than VVM) trying to authenticate your phone when first installed. I can't recall specific examples, but I've definitely seen this sort of thing before...and was concerned, until I figured out where it originated.

AC Question

I got this message on my My zte maven GET?c=ATTV:Z831/6.0.1:3.3.1.1290&v=1.0&l=3042767929&AD

GET?c=ATTV:Z831/6.0.1:3.3.1.1290&v=1.0&l=3042767929&AD.
Why am I seeing this message on my ZTE Maven Android phone?

Which app is showing the message?

It looks like a malformed URL, probably up to no good.
I would delete the message and move on.
I would certainly not click on it.

Re: Random text sent- What is this?

The same thing just happened to me. But I looked at the time and realized that it was from the set up for my Visual Voicemail. Just glad it wasn't anything serious. Hope this helps.

Re: Why do i keep getting these random text

Is it from a short code (5 digit number)?

Are you with AT&T?

Is your phone a Z988 (ZTE Grand X Max 2)?

Have you set up your voice mail or visual voice mail yet in the last 6 months?

If yes short code, yes AT&T, yes Z988, no set up Vmail or VVM you likely have to set up under AT&T's new Vmail servers they rolled out this year. Tap the link in the text to proceed.
