memo pad screen flicker

I have the memo pad 10 with no alterations to it and it just did an update to Android 4.2.2 but my problem is now that I sometimes get a white screen or the screen flickers multiple colors. This only happens on certain apps and not all the time. How do I fix this? I hope I don't need to do a hard reset since I have never done this before with updates.

I would look up how to clear the cache in recovery. That might clear any errors that might be causing this.
