AC Question

My Google Play updates my apps automatically and I noticed last night my memo update is titled in Korean and when I click on the app info there is some English but the name of the app and the sample screens are all in Korean. When I click the info on the bottom for the website it takes me to a Samsung Korean site? (I have a Samsung Galaxy S6). But the privacy links, etc on the update seem to be from Samsung. I got a bit worried, any ideas?

Welcome to Android Central! Where did you get your phone from? Was it directly from your carrier, or did you buy it unlocked from somewhere else? If you got it from somewhere else, it's possible your phone was intended for the Korean market. What's the exact model number, in Settings>About Phone?

It shouldn't be. I bought it directly through Sprint and haven't had any other non-English issues with the phone.

Samsung Galaxy S6

Here is a screenshot of the Play Store update list so you can see it listed and two screenshots of the info when I click on the update:

Very odd. Are there any other Samsung apps in Korean? Or can you see if the app is available in the Galaxy Apps Store (instead of Google Play)?

I previously had my phone set to auto update but as of yesterday I'm now doing all updates manually. That update had gone through then I reversed it once I saw that but it's still in my Play Store just like that.

Here is a screenshot after doing a search for memo in the Galaxy Apps search. It is in English.Says I already have it installed, just needs an update. I haven't clicked it to update anything. I also can't uninstall memo on the phone, it won't let me:

And the only other thing I see in the Play Store in Korean under my "all" tab is an older version of Samsung Music. It just says my device isn't compatible, so I think it's an old one. Looks like the new one on my phone is just fine and in English.

So what happens if you update the Memo app through the Galaxy Apps Store? Does it update properly in English? In general, it's probably best to let the Galaxy Apps Store update your Samsung apps.

I updated it in Galaxy apps and it updated fine. Opened it and it looks fine. Opened Play Store and it's now listed as "up to date" but it's still listed in Korean on their list.

My guess is someone at Samsung messed up the Play Store listing.
