I am sure this has been asked 1,000 times... but for me it is a first. I have the micro sd card that came with the 4G in the phone now. I want to move up to a 16 GB card. Their are several "grades" of cards out there.. any suggestions as to which one is best to use when storing music, videos, etc. I am concerned about quality and speed. Thanks in advance for the help....

If you are constantly going to be adding large amounts of movies and music frequently get the highest class you can afford. I mean gb's at a time. If you're not going to do that it doesn't matter.

But when transferring large amounts of data the speed difference is noticable.

Buy from a reputable dealer: there are lots of fakes floating around (here's a very interesting blog post on the topic, http://www.bunniestudios.com/blog/?p=918). If you are in the US, I recommend Newegg, Amazon itself (and not its many faceless merchants) and Fry's. They often have sales. Other folks seem to like Micro Center. Read the customer reviews on Newegg and Amazon.

The higher the class number, the faster the read/write speed. Apparently, the phone hardware can't use more than class 6 speed, so you probably won't want to pay too much of a premium for a class 10.

For what it's worth, I got a Patriot 16 GB class 4 for $23 after rebate a couple of weeks ago from Newegg.

Buy the higher class numbers if you can afford them, and your card will be good in your next device. And I agree with buying from a reputable retailer... NewEgg and Amazon are on the top of my list... read the recommendations on each of these two websites - lots of good information.

Thanks for all the info. It was the class rating that I was not sure about. I had read several posts that talked about specific class designations that would not work properly on the 4G... but couldn't remember what they were. It sounds like a class 6 card is a good choice. I have a Frys right down the street from where I live so I will stop in there tomorrow and see what they have on sale. Thanks again!

The higher the class number, the faster the transfer rate.... class 4 is suppose to be twice as fast as a class 2... and so on. So, even if a class 10 that is put into a MT4G can not transfer data as quickly as advertised, I'm fairly sure a class 10 will work in a future device as quickly as advertised.

Frys might have pretty good deals locally, but I'd go in there having already searched Newegg and Amazon to know what they offer and how much a few other cards will cost on the web.... only then will know if Frys offers are good or not.
