My Droid X has about 198Mb of free RAM when I first do a Power On. After a few days, it is running about 70-100 Mb of free RAM. I just checked it after running for about a week and it was down to 35Mb of free RAM.

Being new to Android, I don't know...

Is this normal behavior for Android phones?

How low on free RAM can you go before the phone becomes unstable?

Is there an app/widget that will tell me where all of my RAM is going?

Do yourself a favor, don't pay attention to the memory. This is not a blackberry. I never look at my memory, and the phone works great. It was hard to kick the blackberry habit and keep checking memory level. Now I have time to enjoy and use my phone.

this.

the os will close things and free up memory for you when it needs it.

Idk... people say this over and over again like a broken record, but frankly its not what I found. After 3 days of being on, memory drops to <10MB for me and it slows to a crawl. After a quick power off and on it runs good as new again, until 3+ days later it crawls again...

I know its not CPU usage being spiked by some random app as I check it once in awhile and its always idling good. So yeah... idk...
