Hey guys.

My RAM memory is always on 60% on use every time I check, that means that I have 2,2GB always on use and 1,5GB of RAM free. Is that normal? Or do I have something comsuming my RAM? Those are the numbers even when Im not running anything on background or any apps. Should I get worried?

Well... out of the box, clean with really zero apps installed, the G6 will boot up and about 1.4G will consumed by the system. Now, once you get your stuff installed, there will be services that get installed that run regardless of whether or not you have the app launched or not, and those take up memory. Widgets, etc... stuff also sits resident in memory.

So 2.2GB in use? That's normal. If you haven't rebooted your phone in a while and you've launched a ton of apps, you will see much less than 1.5G free... maybe even as low as 256 or so.... But that is fine. Let Android manage memory and keep in mind that an app sitting in memory is an app you can get to quickly. And it also means that it doesn't have the launch the app, read in data, get a refresh from some site, etc...

My wife furiously swipes away all her apps every time she's done using her phone for a bit. Drives me nuts... and now my daughter is doing it too.

Okay, I read about leting the Android manage the memory instead of doing it manually, so I will let as it is. Thanks guys!

EXACTLY! Way back in the day, Android did a pretty poor job in managing things and that lead to the rise of the memory management apps... 'Clear All' was something you had to do ALL THE TIME if you wanted the thing to run right. Things have changed and the memfree functions have greatly improved. They aren't perfect, but they do a pretty good job anyhow.

so you meant, no need to engage the "smart doctor" app in daily basis to clear up the junk memory?
