I've decided to start a company called DBA Cases Inc.

My first offerings are now on Amazon. My focus is currently on the Galaxy Nexus.

Here are links to the first two listings. Grey and White. Black will be available this week also.

I've had these cases on my Extended Battery i515 for about a month and I love them. They fit perfectly with the standard. With the extended the phone is fully protected by the silicon, but sometimes the mesh moves up a little on the bottom of the case. For me it's very minor to push it back down.

They weigh only 1 oz which is about the same as a TPU case but offer more protection from the silicon + the hard PC mesh.

I usually don't drop my phones but ironically I was carrying a large box with cases to my car with the phone in my hand and it dropped about 4 feet. It landed on the back hitting the mesh. No damage at all and the mesh didn't scratch (it's scratch resistant and shatter resistant).

Check them out and let me know what you think.

They look pretty cool to me...

In your opinion, how do these differ from the seidio active cases?

thanx

Look fantastic. Kind of regretting buying another new case before seeing this.

Best wishes/good luck!

I've never used the Seido Active but I watched a video after you asked the question.

They look like the same concept. They both use exactly the same materials and offer the same protection.

I would say the biggest difference is price. The Mesh Combo is only $11.50 and the Seido Active looks like it's about $40.

I've been using the Combo Mesh and I've just been switching colors but it's my favorite case.

I can't tell you which has a higher quality. Generally the name brands are more expensive because of the name - but it could be a higher quality (the seido). You will get a much nicer box that it's in compared with the Mesh Combo :)

I've ordered many cases - the diztronic, the cruzerlite, etc... I'm always of the opinion go for the quality inexpensive option and if you don't like it then you haven't invested a ton of money.

By the way Raul of RaulReviews is going to put up his review of these any day. So if you want a neutral position you can watch the video.

looks good. How about a red/black.

You mean black silicon with the mesh being red?

I had to pick the most popular colors for my first order which was large. Red/Maroon was one of the ones I liked the most but I researched what sold the most and strangely red was not high up.

I do have an awesome maroon case I got as a sample in perfect condition. You might be able to convince me to part with it - but it's the only one I have.

I have samples of Blue, Hot Pink, Maroon and Purple here. Just one of each.

If there is a large demand for the maroon or red I might consider ordering them.

To be completely honest these don't show any wear in the month I've been switching between them. I dropped my phone on the white mesh and it didn't show anything.

Is it going to be possible to order the pieces separate?

No, and it wouldn't save you much money. The silicon part is cheap and the mesh is expensive.

The mesh is made of Polycarbonate.

Here is a very cool video about Polycarbonate - Polycarbonate vs Acrylic Plastic - YouTube

You can read about it here What is Polycarbonate?

Basically it's shatter proof. That's why they use it on cases. Having Polycarbonate (referred to as PC) over silicon means you get high protection and at the same time the silicon absorbs the impact.

The PC is the expensive part of the case.

Just about any combo case like this uses silicon and PC.

I've only dropped the Nexus once with this on and it hit the PC on cement. There was no damage at all.

nicely done....wonder if that would fit the extended 2100 battery?

nevermind saw the little verbage about it slipping a bit.

That's a good question.

I've been using it with the extended battery (2100) for most of the time. It fits very well however what you will find is the bottom sometimes will "pull down" the silicon and mesh a little bit. For me it's as simple as pushing it back up and is no big deal.

The silicon that protects the front of the phone is not affected at all by the extended battery - it completely surrounds the phone.

I've also found that the more I use it the less it pulls down.

I am a pretty neurotic person and this doesn't bother me.

However I'm always going to be completely honest about my products so I want people to know that if they are looking for perfection on the extended battery this is not perfection. I would say it's 95%.

I currently have a Diztronic tpu case on my Nexus. I also use a leather belt holster. I would like to try the new black and gray case but since my current setup barely fits my holster I hesistate to try it. I have not been able to find a larger belt case with belt loops.

Since I don't know the size of your holster it's hard to say anything. It''s close to the size of the Diztronc but since I gave it to my dad I don't have it here to compare anymore.

The silicon is not bulky and the mesh doesn't add anything to it since there are cutouts in the silicon.

Can you link me to the holster?

Those published dimensions are wrong. Interior length is about 5.5 inches.

Yosteve,

Go to Amazon and in the regular search box type DBA Cases. That will show you all the cases I carry.

The cases I sell and the Verizon case I have which should be similar to the diztronic are about the same size.

The Mesh Combo case is not one of those gigantic cases like the otterbox. It's a silicon insert which is the same size as any other case and the mesh over it which doesn't create any more depth - it's recessed into the silicon.

But it's completely impossible to tell you for sure without having your case to test it on.

Do you need for it to be in a container? Or will a good clip/stand do?
