Messages App Lags

I'm thoroughly enjoying this phone now that I have the extended battery and it's working great...however, I notice the messages app seems to lag a lot when sending a message and then when I go back to my list of messages. I capped the number of saved messages at 100, but that hasn't done anything to reduce the lag.

Any suggestions?

Ditch it if u don't mind not using it. Try something else. I love handcent. GoSMS isn't bad either. U also have chompSMS.
