Messages - Get Rid of "You:" ?

I am referring to the list of message threads on the opening screen. Is there any way to get rid of the prefix "You:" that shows in front of all threads where I was the last one to communicate? I find it totally unnecessary. Plus, it takes away 5 characters from the actual text of the message which I find more helpful than a long list of "You:". Could not find a setting that would turn that "helpful" feature off?
