Messages sends, but won't receive any texts.

[Android Central Question]

I just bought a brand new Moto G power 2021, and I sent some messages as soon as I plugged in my SIM from my Moto G 5 plus. Data, calls and outgoing texts worked immediately and the phone had no real issues, but soon I realized no one had responded to any of my texts, so I asked someone to send me one and sure enough, I receive nothing. My hypothesis is that the messages app cannot view my message history, because all other services work fine and my SIM had no issues in my G 5 plus. Also I remember my last phone updated all my convos when I installed the SIM and I don't have any of my old conversations.

Whos your carrier? Is it just texts or phone calls also?
