Messaging app options

The only sms app that works between my Note4 and Tab S 8.4 is 'mysms' . The problem is that it's bland with really no customization options. Why dont the tablets have a better variety of texting apps like the phones do? Every one I've tried to download on my tablet either says "not compatible" or have to adjust "permission settings" to allow it access. I can't even access the permission settings on the Tab s. Any thoughts amigos?

Mighty Text is fairly decent looking. I used it for about a year. I do believe it request accepting permission settings as well, but worth a look.

If you are on Verizon, they offer their texting app you can use in any device, it does work on my Galaxy Note Pro 12.2
