I'm looking for an app the functions as exactly as close to the ios messaging app as possible. What I'd like is an app that only displays an icon on the menu bar but shows the message in the notification pull down menu that allows me to reply from there without leaving whatever app I'm currently in. I've tried every 3rd party messaging app I've come close but not to this exactly. Glow fly being the closet. It must flash a preview in order for you to be able to reply from the pull down. Also it groups all of your texts in the pull down so if you get multiple texts you can't preview one before you reply. TIA

Google Messenger does exactly that on my phone (1st gen Moto X w/Lollipop 5.1 & Google Messenger 1.4.048).

Thanks Gary. But it looks as if the only way you have the option to reply from the pull down menu is to allow the text to pop up across the top menu first which is something I'd like to avoid.
