Messaging Input window question/problem

Recently upgraded from a Droid Bionic to the MAXX. The text messaging input window only shows three lines on my new MAXX. The old Bionic would expand upward allowing me to see my entire typed message which was useful when trying to re-read etc. Any idea how to make the MAXX do this!?

You'll have to use a different messaging app, maybe - the stock app cannot be changed, as far as I know. You can also type in landscape for about 4-5 lines.

Ok...cool...thanks doogald. I didn't think of using landscape since I never do but that might work for me. What is the best free messaging app?

Textra. Hands down, in my opinion. Tried em all and Textra blows them away, performance-wise. Great devs, too.
