messaging lag 6t

Has anyone else had lag when opening the messaging app? It's happening to me constantly, it takes up to ten seconds sometimes to open. But what's weird is all other apps open really fast.

Brand new phone so it's hard to imagine the app cache needing to be cleared, but it can't hurt to try it.

Force stop then clear app cache. If that doesn't work and you can't uninstall/reinstall then there's always third party options.

I haven't been having any lag issues with messaging. I had the OP app on for the first day then switched to Android Messages.

yes I have had the same issues with the stock app as well. thought at first it was just a one off phone but reading on here, I guess I'm not alone.
