Messaging w/slideout keyboard

Does anyone know a way to change what messaging app opens with the messaging key on the slideout keyboard? When I hit the button it opens the stock messaging app; however I would like it to open GoSms. Suggestions?

I haven't found a way to change it from within the messaging app or Keyboard & Language

The spacebar on the qwerty keyboards a fail. If you slide your nail acr.oss it presing down slightly you notice ridges. This caauses the spacebar to be tricky to work perectly imo. Its pretty depressing
