So I recently got my Active 2. I am coming from a FitBit so this is the first watch I have had that can actually send messages. On my phone I use Chomp SMS, rather than the native Samsung Messages app.

Every time I open messages or go to send a message from my watch I get a message asking if I want to make Messages the default messaging app. If I say yes it changes my default app on my phone (I have no other messaging app on my watch). If I decline I can still send the message but the question pops up the next time I want to send a message from my watch.

Does anyone no how to keep this message from popping up, short of switching my phone app.

Thanks

On the phone, clear defaults in Messages (in Settings < Apps > Messages.) Run Chomp and, when it asks if you want Chomp to be the default SMS app, say yes. That should fix it. (Then again, the watch may be trying to run Messages, not just "the default texting app" - which it should be. That would make the problem unsolvable,)

I do not see a 'clear defaults' option within the settings. I opened up the Settings > apps > Messages

I was able to stop messages app from running but when I went to text from my watch, same happens. I just decline to reset but the question pops every time. Annoying.

thanks

I don't think they're is a way around this, from what I've read about our Samsung smartwatches.
If you wish to send SMS from the watch, often, I recommend using the Samsung Messages app. They're is much more functionality on the watch with the native app.
