MHL 2.0? Is it working for you?

So, I got the official Samsung MHL 2.0 adapter from their website, just to be sure I wouldn't get some cheap clone or knock-off. (There are coupons out there for Samsung customers to get it half off, if anyone is curious.)

I got it and used it with my Verizon GN3, and it seemed to be working. I wasn't sure if it was charging or not (without a charging cable), but that can depend on the TV itself. However, a few hours later, I realized that the charging port on my GN3 was now broken. I literally had to take it to Verizon and have it exchanged for a new GN3 the very next day.

Has anyone else had this experience? Has anyone else been using the MHL 2.0 adapter without issue? I'm getting a replacement MHL 2.0 adapter, but I'm still freaked out by this. I'm trying to see if others experienced anything like this, or if their MHL 2.0 experience with the GN3 has been problem-free. Any thoughts?

Well I was going to get the MHL adapter with my 50% off coupon..... But now..... Maybe I'll wait. At least you got a replacement that's good.

Wow, I swear I've checked this thread and never saw responses. I guess I missed these. Bizarre.

Yeah, it was definitely a hardware failure. I've yet to see -anyone- else have the same experience I've had, but it still freaks me out. Verizon replaced my GN3 the next day, and I -just- got the replacement MHL 2.0 adapter from Samsung. To be honest, I'm afraid to try it, even though nobody else seems to have had the same issues.

I also have the official MHL 2.0 adapter from Samsung and I have no problems with it. The plug clicks into the phone so it doesn't fall off easily. If I unplug the USB charger cable from the adapter, the TV does not get a signal. It works great on an HDTV but the edges gets cut off when I use it on LCD monitors.
