Mic not working!

When someone calls me the microphone on my phone does not work or shell I say the person on the other end can't hear me,but It works in whats app calls or if I call them.
Just not when they call me?

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? WhatsApp and other VoIP calling apps often use the secondary mic rather than the primary mic, so if your primary mic (at the bottom of the phone) is blocked or faulty, that could explain it. Can callers hear you if you turn on speakerphone or use a wired/Bluetooth headset?

Which phone ?
Try resetting the phone app by clearing its data and force stop

Same here. I can make a google duo call and people can hear me. Google voide or textnow and the microphones do not work. Can't figure it out. Both apps have mic permision.

Can people hear you if you make a regular phone call? What about a speakerphone call?

Don't know about regular phone call. Have a data only sim. Pixel 3a. No on Speaker phone.

Forgot to ask as well -- when you say Google Voice, do you mean the service that gives you a phone number that you can forward other numbers to?

I'm wondering if the secondary mic (the one at the top of the phone) is blocked or faulty. Regular phone calls use the primary mic (at the bottom), while speakerphone uses the secondary mic. I'm not sure if Textnow uses the secondary mic as well.
