If I purchase a Micro HDMI to HDMI cable, will I be able to use that to view videos from my phone on my TV?

No, as there is no mini hdmi port on the S3. You would need to buy a Samsung MHL adapter to get it to the TV, since this is (at the moment) the only MHL adapter that works for our phones.

If you have an older MHL, Samsung is selling an adapter for them that will get it to work for our phones.
