I am new to Android. I was an iphone user since the beginning of iphone. I did have a Note 2 for a short time years back. This past Saturday I made the switch to the Note 10+ 5G and I am extremely happy. My question is this, today I installed a 512 GB micro SD card. I want my photos and documents to go on the card and to my Google Photo's. Then every so often I want to remove them from the card but have them in Googles cloud. On the iphone they only were stored in iCloud. If I understand this right the documents sync to Google Drive but the photos don't. I'd like it all in one place in the cloud. I don't like Verizons cloud service and Samsungs isn't available to VZW users. Sorry for the long post just want to set this up right!

The images sync to google photos. There is an option in the google photos app to clean up. It only deletes images on the phone that have synced to the cloud.

I don't mess with Google Drive but I have over 10,000 videos and pictures on Google Photos. Once they upload, they're there for good. I still back them up to a hard drive just in case.

All my documents, I upload to SYNC. I have copies on my phone and my hard drive. I got 25gigs of free storage just by referring fake emails to sync.com

I double upload. I sync to one drive and google photos. For documents if using office easier to use one drive but try to use google drive.

Thank you for the replies. I did the clean up as suggested worked fine. One more thing, my photo's go to Google Photo as well as GALLERY, I assume this is a Samsung or VZW app. Is there a way to only have the photos in Google?

Gallery is a Samsung app, pics go there first , no way around that if you don't want you pics there , delete them after they upload to Google photos
