at first the card was working just fine, then i wanted to put a huge collection of converted to jpeg dslr canon raw files onto the card. i left it go and came back and it appeared to be done. at that time, the card was inaccessible. i tried putting it in 2 other phones and my computer...no luck. put it in the sd card adapter and still nothing. i would put it in the card reader and the 2 drive letters show up and i get an error when clicking on either drive.

it was 115 Gb's of jpegs...could the sustained file transfer heat it up to fry it? it was in an Anker usb 3.0 usb card reader.

Hard to say for sure. A no-name SD card is likely to be pretty poor quality, and prone to corruption or failure. But even well-known brands are susceptible to this as well, since memory chips for SD cards are generally low quality (this according to a person in the industry I've spoken to).

Heat might have been an issue -- do you remember if the card was pretty warm when you took it out? Transferring a huge amount of data at a time might also increase the risk for data errors, which in turn might increase the risk for card corruption.
