Hi, I would like to connect my Tab S2 to my TV using its hdmi port, is there such a cable that will do this ? I'm in the UK. Thanks

I don't think a standard cable will work for this. USB C to HDMI would be a many BUT only certain USB C Phones and devices do this. For a micro USB connection you will need an MHL cable.

This is NOT to say for sure that will work either, but it should. Your local electronics/computer/TV store should have one, or Amazon UK, or other online sellers. Carphone Warehouse maybe?

UPDATE: Just had another thought. A Chromecast might do the trick too....

Thanks for the quick reply and suggestions. I can cast my tablet to my home tv, but I intend going to a villa that does not have a smart tv, so hence me looking at connecting to it via its hdmi port, Chromecast is another possiblity, but a simple cable would have been ideal.

I've been researching on Google and I'm getting all sorts of conflicting feedback in regards to my model which is the 9.7 inch SM T813 model and something about supporting MHL , blimey, I thought this would be very simple !!

Some say it will work and some say it won't!!

I does not support MHL so you can't do a cable-out solution - has to be a cast of some sort.

I ran into the same issue with my T-713.

I just confirmed that my MHL adapter from my Galaxy S4 phone works for sending tablet screen video through an hdmi cable to a tv. Its not full screen but works both in portrait and landscape orientations. You do need to supply power to the MHL adapter to get it to work. will test streaming and repost findings.

Just confirmed streaming youtube tv thru hdmi & MHL adapter, both video & audio to hotel tv. Was not full screen. Tablet- SM-T817V, Android-7.0, MHL- KCC-REM-SEC-ET-H10FAUWE.

Thanks very much for doing the testing. I sort of knew it would not be full screen, but is it watchable and is the sound ok ? Thanks

I just confirmed that using USB Type C Male to HDMI Female Adapter for my monitor. it Provide both video and audio when available.

The type cable you are talking about only works with certain phones, such has late model Samsung phones (think S8 and later), and certain other phones, some LG and HTC models for example. I was able to connect my V30 to an HDMI TV and Monitior.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 phone also does not support MHL, but can directly output HDMI via cable. (Samsung USB-C to HDMI Adapter, Black - MAIN-31176), so non-MHL is not a definition of inability for this.
