Microphone issue using android phone as webcam for PC

I've set up my android phone to act as a webcam for my laptop, over the home wireless network. I've used IP Webcam app on the phone and IP Camera Adapter on the laptop. In my browser I can get video and audio fine, when I speak into the phone sound comes back from the laptop after a minor delay, so the setup is functioning. When using Skype, however, the video is working but there is no option to use/no detection of the microphone on the phone, and therefore I can't be heard.
