I recently got my Samsung s20+ and I'm having a bad issue with it's microphone. The microphone seem to work at times and sometimes not. I've tried a lot of things such as clearing cache/data of apps, resetting apps settings, making sure everything has proper permission for the microphone. None seem to have helped.

The issue is, for example, i use the mic to send a voice messenger on Facebook messenger (an example), it works all well. Now, if i back out and open another app such as Samsung internet or google chrome and google anything random, now if i go back to Facebook messenger the mic will no longer work and my voice messages will be empty. Upon playing the voice message there is a *click* noise at the beginning and then flat, nothing. Note, this is not an issue with Facebook messenger as this is noticeable on other apps like WhatsApp

It's been really frustrating to me, i hope someone has some kind of solution for this. I believe it may be the software issue rather than hardware as i got myself narrowed down to the point where i can trigger this to happen manually

I am on android 13, latest up to date

No, i never had such incident with my phone. I have not checked with video recording. Although, when i tried the diagnostic from settings, it could not detect my first (near charging port) mic but detected the second mic (near front camera). The issue here is, it works. The mic actually functions just fine when it is correctly detected by apps. Today it's been working almost all day and was even detected on diagnostics until now when it stopped being detected by apps once again. I am really confused what could cause this

Yeah that's called intermittent problem, you would need a repair center to diagnose it further, you could try factory reset but not guaranteed to fix . I would say safe mode also but u won't be able to test 3rd party apps.
