Microphone stopped working randomly last night on my Note 5 :(

I've never had any real problems with this phone, however last night my microphone just went out all of a sudden with no drops, spills or accidents. Now my calls or voice search/typing won't go work, but I can hear the other person on calls they just can't hear me. Somehow it works on speakerphone a lil bit hear and there also? I am so confused and I have owned just about every phone out in the past 10 years. This has never happened on any other phone, ever.

Does anyone have a solution? I've searched everywhere, I also did a wipe cache partion, did nothing. I don't want to do a factory reset because I have a lot on my phone and don't want to set it all up again. The note 5 was my favorite phone I've ever owned until now...

Check the primary mic's opening, and make sure it isn't blocked by anything like dirt or lint. Use the tip of a safety pin or needle, and gently​ scrape it out.

Try Safe Mode: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-23216. If that doesn't help, then it's possible the mic itself has failed.

Here's an article about safe mode and the Note 4. Essentially, Safe mode allows you to run the device without third party apps. You can see if your problems occurs in safe mode or not. If your phone behaves normally, then the problem is likely related to an app you've installed.
