Just migrated from BB to the Mytouch 4g and I have one problem with the active sync. Everything works perfectly however when I delete a email from the device it also removes it from the server. My BB gave the option to delete from handheld or from handheld and server. I can't find any setting which only delete from the Mytouch and not the server is this possible.

I think the intent is to sync the handheld to the server - which means keep them the same. If it was pop3 you could do this, but not when syncing. I've never heard of doing that with ActiveSync.

Mine does not delete from the server. I was wondering if there were settings that would enable it to sync 2 ways or not - but I prefer it the way it is default for me so I didn't look into it.

Had a few issues getting ActiveSync on my 4g to start with (fat fingered the PW and server name wrong) but after that it works great. Does not delete messages from my work server until I go there on my work comp. I prefer this way, although I didn't see a method to do anything else when I did the initial set up.

Ref Blackberry/Android Exchange email delete functionality

Yes Namrac, I also came from Blackberry. The quick answer is no, none of the Android apps allow you the option to selectively determine where to delete the email like the BES server allowed. I'm using the Touchdown app which vastly improves the native Exchange integration. Messages deleted on phone are deleted from the server on next synch, which is configurable from the menu's to occur as changes are made or in any one of several intervals.
