Im having trouble with Mightytext SMS. My texts are not showing up on mightytext web app if i am using the stock messaging app on the phone to send or receive. If i switch to textra, the texts show up just fine on mightytext. Is mightytext incompatible with the stock app? Am i forced to use Textra in order to have a functional mightytext app?

If you're using Enchanced Messaging (RCS), which only the stock app can do (according to Textra devs, RCS on Android is not available for 3rd party apps), then those messages wouldn't show up on MT because, just like Textra, they can't access them. If you switch that feature off (not possible on some phones, and at least it wasn't possible on the S7 Edge or S8, so don't see why that'd change on the Note unless you switched VoLTE off) then texts on the stock messaging app can be accessed.

That being said, it might be a 'bug' on MightyText's side, I haven't tried it on the Note 8. It's working fine for both stock and Textra (without RCS) on the S8, though.

I believe it is an issue with the RCS. Is there any apps similar to Mightytext which are compatible with RCS?

If the Mighty Text devs are to be believed, RCS is only available on Android to the stock messaging apps.

Personally, based on experience, using SideSync to text from a PC is better than MightyText.

Problem with that is that you need the PC to support SideSync and have it installed as well as having the phone constantly connected either via USB or to the same WiFi network. With MightyText you can at least text from anywhere without needing the phone connected (heck, not even around, as long as it's got active data).
