My Pixel 2 served me well. The battery seems as good as day one and the phone is almost as smooth as it was new but after 4 years and no updates this year it is time to upgrade. My new phone should be delivered today.

Can someone spot me a link to the best way to migrate settings, Nova settings, whatsapp, chat, messages, contacts, phone history etc.. to my Pixel 6 pro?

Google One does a phone backup each day but I am not sure if that backs up everything I need.

I think it will pull everything over for you. Google One worked in my migration from 3a XL to 4a 5G, and again getting the 4a 5G to my 6. Very easy!

Wow, that's so exciting! Congratulations on your new phone, and good for you for sticking with your trusty Pixel 2 XL! It's definitely a timeless, awesome phone!

When I got my Pixel 5, the transfer of information and apps were automatic from my S10 to the Pixel 5. It was the smoothest transition I've ever done with a phone. I'm sure you will be just fine!

I don't use WhatsApp but for Nova settings there is a backup setting and you could send it to your Google drive or email whichever way you want to back it up and then restore it on the new phone

Don't transfer everything over. Start from a CLEAN phone and download everything all over again. You'll thank us later.

Contacts through Gmail are easy peasy. Same with Google Photos. Same for any notes stored in Gmail. Settings are best recreated as new and only takes a few minutes. I periodically purge my texts so saving them is never a thing for me.

The easy and painless way to transfer everything, including your home page setup, is to plug your usb-c to usb-c cable from your old phone to your new one and follow the prompts. Takes about 20 minutes and you have to log in to all your apps that require it. I've done it from Pixel XL to Pixel 2XL to Pixel 4XL to Pixel 5 to Pixel 6PRO and everything worked perfectly everytime. YMMV

I did the transfer from my Pixel 4a to my Pixel 6 Pro. It perfectly replicated all my settings and home screen app placements and folders. All I had to do was to sign into what was needed and it was done. No issues whatsoever. Painless. So was the transferring my Google Fi from one phone to the other.

Well new phone finally came today. Google printed FEDEX label but it took a phone call for them to give it over to FEDEX Thursday.

Anyway will do the USB to USB backup. Backing up whatsapp and Nova to google drive now and charging up both phones.

I remember the 4 years ago when I switched from a Note Edge to the Pixel 2 the phone screens looked exactly the same, so that is the downside of a complete backup.

I may try to go without Nova Launcher and use the Pixel Launcher. The main feature of nova I like is the ability to size widgets to full screen. I see that is possible now with the pixel launcher - widgets resize but not quite to edge to edge of screen like Nova. (I have a calendar widget, twitter trend widget, and my stock portfolio widget that each have their own page).

Nice congrats, hope you enjoy it .
