I am older than some dirt and not a phone phreak. My Nexus 5x arrives Wednesday, maybe, from the U.S. Just in case it comes too late to get my SIM card from my service provider, can I transfer my contacts, calendar, apps, and so forth from my Nexus 5 to my 5X before I get a SIM card?

If all that information is linked to your Google account you shouldn't have any problem. You can use the phone as a WiFi device until you get the SIM card.

Yes, as long as you have a Wi-Fi connection. While setting up, you will get the opportunity to copy from devices you have registered with Google (anything you have used your google account for). Set-up will show you a list-presumably your N5. You're not technically copying from the N5 but copying from its web back up. Be sure you have allowed the back up feature on your N5 (settings>back up & reset>back up my data) in case it matters. I'm not sure if paid apps auto load, but most apps will.

Thanks, Javier. I was dreading sitting and looking at the new phone all evening.
