Mili Extended Battery For Bionic

I realize this is expensive but does anyone know anything about the item below? If it gives you that much more battery life it might be worth it for me. Any thoughts?

Mili Power Queen 8000 mAh External Battery Pack for iPhone/iPad/Smartphones at MobileCityOnline.com

Well, its like carrying around a 2nd phone, so if you like that feeling go for it. haha.

Seriously though, its just a big battery with a charging plug on it from what i gather. So a portable charger. You would use your phone and when it gets low, plug it in just like any other charger and it'll charge your phone up... and even when fully charged... it would keep it charged if you leave it attached while using it.

It looks cool and I could certainly see something like that being perfect for the right person, but that seems a bit pricy to me. Now 8000mAh is great, but I often find specs like that are insanely over rated.

If you think it looks like something that would come in handy, maybe you spend a good amount of time not near a power source, I would recommend shopping around and looking for independent reviews.

I was confused. I thought the phone actually docked inside the unit and you turned it on to add extra power. This is just a charging station.

Cool idea, and it's something I would consider for a tablet maybe, but for a phone, I'd rather just carry a charger around. Much smaller. I would suggest trying the extended battery before you go whole hog on this bad boy.

Yeah my friend had a smaller one of something like this for his Droid X, he was using at DisneyWorld to keep it charged through the day. We always got terrible reception inside attractions so his battery would go pretty quickly. It's a cool thing to have, I would go with something lighter and cheaper...and just stuff it in a bag until you need it.

I can tell you external batteries work well. (Energizer XP18000) However, the real question is if you are disciplined enough to carry it. It's like buying a DSLR instead of a point and shoot. If the point and shot does what you need, are you really going to lug around the DSLR everywhere you go? And then, that one moment you really need the DSLR, you left it in the car. >.<

IMO, get the extended battery and keep the standard battery as backup. It's smaller, no additional charge, and extremely simple.

If you're you carry a piece of luggage with you everywhere you go and either watch hours of video or are away from your charger for days at a time, go for it.

vzw has something similar. i bought mine half off when i bought my bionic. never used just looked for it not sure where it is. but yea phone plugs and it gets charged. fyi i also have two a extended battery a spare battery charger and two stock batteries. im ready for the event.

I picked this one up from Anker - Amazon.com: Anker Power Bank 5000mAh Li-ion External Battery Pack and Charger for Motorola Atrix 4G, Photon 4G, Defy; Motorola Droid, Droid 2, Droid 2 Global Droid 3, Droid X, Droid X2, Droid Pro, Droid Bionic; Motorola A855, Backflip, CLIQ 2, Charm,. It's rated for 5000 mAh, but I think that's overstated. The good: It's small, portable, relatively easy to use, and comes with a variety of attachments (NOT one, however, that will also work with my Xoom). The bad: I used it to recharge my phone while out playing golf. I had the standard battery in, with a 40% charge when I started. It charged my phone fully in about an hour, but was down to less than 20% charge itself. I'm no electrical engineer, but since the standard battery is rated at 1735 mAh, I would have expected the Anker to still have capacity after fully charging my phone.

Nevertheless, it works - I'll just have to find another solution for my 3 day camping trips w/out power access where I use the phone as an MP3 player.
